Being Forced to Enjoy Fashion Again

Recently I was forced to attempt to find a job again.  I have been absolutely all about fashion until I started working for a mouse.  When I took the job, it was fantastic because it was really all about sentimental memories that I had with my father.  Now that I find myself out of a job, I have to start catching up on trends, on icons, on designers.  When I first started working at "my previous life," I loved Gaultier, McQueen, Westwood, Miyake, Lagerfeld etc.  Now, there are so many new dark and avant guarde designers out there that I can not keep up.
They have some really amazing stuff.

You see, I have this weird process when looking for inspiration or even just shopping runway shows.  The criteria is quite simple.   It must be dark, I would definitely wear it out and if it was not so easy on the eyes, could a good pair of gloves and shoes make it wear-worthy?

I plan on adding to this blog every night as I come across the fall and winter 12/13 fashion shows, and write just a little bit about them.  As an ameture designer, I do get a little sensative when anyone makes fun of the clothing I design; So, I will keep the critism down to the bare minimum.

Jean Paul Gaultier- LOVE,LOVE,LOVE- would expect nothing else.  The only thing that I really could not get into was the tribal stuff... but who am I kidding- if it has a JPG logo on it; I will buy it.

Alexander McQueen- I hate to speak ill of the dead's designs... but I have to say Sarah, what is going on over there?  I used to love all of your/his designs.  Now, I find them to all look like sea anemones and poodles.  With the pret-a-porter line.... absolutely beautiful and I would wear almost every piece.
I get that you have to be dramatic for the high fashion fashion shows, but it was not spacey, it was not vintage, it just was not good.  Too much maribou and fluffy stuff.

Vivienne Westwood- You are still one of my favorites, I love almost everything in the Red Label and about 1/2 of the Gold Label.  You are amazing.

Since Gaultier's show was about an hour long, I have to say good night.
